New heating fuel - biomass pellet

Heating in winter is the basic living requirement of urban and rural residents in northern China. At present, the heating industry can be mainly divided into two parts:

biomass pellet machine and EFB pellet

1. The urban collective heating.
The living area of urban residents is relatively concentrated so that the collective heating can be realized. The main forms of heat source in China's urban heating are the thermal power plant, centralized boiler room, scattered boiler room, industrial waste heat, nuclear energy, geothermal, solar energy, heat pump, household electric heater and a small coal (oil or gas) furnace, etc. The widely used heat source for central heating is mainly thermal power plant and boiler room. However, due to the increasing of natural gas and oil prices as well as the national control on coal, the heating costs rise, the rate of return on investment reduces for heating enterprises. While using biomass fuel pellet, including EFB pellet, straw pellets, etc. can greatly reduce the cost of heating. The cost of one ton of hot water production in the oil burning boiler is about 28 to 30 yuan and it is about 20 to 24 yuan for gas boiler. While the cost for special EFB pellet fuel boiler for producing one ton of hot water is about 6 to 8 yuan, so as to ensure the return on investment of the heating enterprise.

2. The rural household heating.
Since the living area of rural residents is relatively scattered, the cost for collective heating is higher, so most of rural residents adopt household heating. Household heating mainly rely on coal and electricity. More developed rural residents use air conditioning for heating, which is clean and without any pollution, but the electricity cost is higher. Most of the rural residents still use coal-fired heating with serious coal burning pollution. Biomass pellet fuel with the features of longer combustion time, low pollution and lower price than coal, has been popularized in some areas. In Shijiazhuang city, Hebei province, biomass pellet stove and biomass fuels (mainly biomass pellet, EFB pellet, straw pellets) have been generalized in the whole city and village. Biomass pellet fuel used for heating in the winter of 2014 can replace 95000 tons of coal with 593700 tons of carbon dioxide, 0.43 tons of sulphur dioxide and 0.43 tons of dust emission reduction.

Thus, no matter in urban collective heating or rural household heating, biomass pellet fuel has the absolute advantage. Biomass pellet machine used to process palm EFB, straw, sawdust into biomass fuels such as EFB pellet and straw pellets would bring positive and far-reaching influence on the heating industry in China.
