Japan established strategy for biomass fuel

In recent years, the world has increased the domestic production of biomass liquid fuel in succession, considering for the aspect of energy security, green house gas emission and so on. Recently, China Energy Foundation has published a research report entitled industrial policy of biomass liquid fuel in the world. It pointed that Japan has promised to reduce 6% of the emission of greenhouse gas at the end of 2012 than that in 1990 in Kyoto Agreement. In order to fulfill the promise, Japan has promoted the development of the biomass fuel. In 2001, the promoting various kind of resources including biomass fuel was taken as the basic law of recycling society. 

 

In December 2002, Japan published the early biomass fuel plan Japan’s biomass fuel strategy, which contains four key points: 

1.To prevent from global warming 

2.To create a circulate economy society 

3.To cultivate a strategic new industry 

4.To promote rural cooperative. 

 

The plan focused on comprehensive utilization of the biomass fuel, but the biomass fuel is not the key points. Biomass fuel was being pay attention to by Japan, which was planed separately in the prospect of long time energy supply and demand in 2005 by the Agency for natural resources and energy. The plan is that oil equivalent in 2010 was up to 50,000KL, which was adopted by The Kyoto Protocol achievement program at the same year, and it was included in the revised biomass fuel strategy in 2006. In March 2006, Japan revised Japan’s biomass fuel strategy, which focused on the utilization of biomass fuel in transportation, setting up an arm that the biomass fuel would replace of 50, 0000 KL fossil fuel in traffic department until 2017. For this reason, Executive Committee on Biomass Nippon Strategy published a report titled Boosting the production of biofuel in Japan in the plan of Japan biomass fuel strategy in Feb. 2007. 

 

The report said that until 2011 Japan would make biofuel from the honey and 50000kl unqualified rice and use the construction waste to produce 10000 kL biofuel. Until 2030, Japan would produce 6000000kL biofuel ( that is 10% of the domestic fuel oil consumption) from the cellulose materials( like straw, Tin timber) and crops(like sugar cane and beet).

Development prospects of biomass pellet mill

 

Wood pellet mill and straw pellet mill are aim at processing of waste wood and straw, and these two kinds of feedstock are large in amounts which are badly in need of dealing with. Construction wastes, sanitary waste, furniture industry are producing plenty of waste timber.
