Main factors influencing the productivity of pellet plant (1)

At present, the feed industry in China is in the developing period, especially the proportion of pellet feed in the compound feed production is increasing year by year and plays a leading role, thus, there is a very wide application of pellet plant. That how to give full play to the production capacity of pellet plant to ensure its stability and high yield has become the key to improve the economic benefit of feed mills. In the production of compound feed, pelletizing with pellet plant is crucial. As is known that the production of many feed mills can not meet the expected demand because of some unreasonable process arrangement and operation technology to a certain extent so that the production capacity of pellet plant cannot be performed normally, which directly affects the cost of pellet feed production.Pellet feed is technologically sophisticated products, there are many variable factors influencing the productivity of pellet plant.

1, The raw material
Raw materials of different formulations would directly affect the quality of pelletizing. Materials with higher starch content are easy to be gelatinized by the steam. The raw material has certain viscosity after conditioning, which is advantageous to the forming of pellet. As for materials with high crude fiber content, adding a certain amount of grease can reduce the friction between the material and ring die when pelletizing, which is helpful for the material to pass through the ring die, and the appearance of pellet produced is smooth after forming. Generally, the quantity of grease added is approximately 1%. Crushing granularity of raw material determines the surface area of feed composition, the finer the particle size is fine, the greater the surface area, the faster the material absorbs water in the steam, which is conducive to conditioning, also easy for pellet forming.
 
In terms of pelletizing, fine crushing would result in high pelletizing intensity. With more steam added, it is easy to block the machine with a minor mistake. If the raw material is crushed too fine, the power consumption in the crushing process would be higher. However, if the particle size is too coarse, it would increase the wear of the roller shell and ring die and bring difficulties for pellet forming, especially the forming of small aperture ring die, resulting in large material consumption, low yield, poor grains gelatinization effect and high powder content of pellet. The general required variable coefficient of mixing uniformity in feed mills is less than 10%, but the feed formula is very complex, relative density difference of different materials is big. Different formula, different varieties and different mixing time should be used to make the variable coefficient of mixing uniformity around 5% and lay the good foundation to the back pelletizing process.
 
2, The feeding rate
In order to make the pellet plant working in balance at full capacity without any pause, the feeding of material into the pellet plant should meet the pelletizing needs. Besides, the feeding mechanism should effectively eliminate the intermittent feeding phenomenon. In order to ensure the stability of material entering in the feeder, a buffer can be installed in the upper part of the biomass pellet mill and the capacity should reach more than 25% of the requisite amount per hour. If there is no buffer, or there is a long tube (0.5 m above) between the buffer and feeder, it will be difficult to guarantee the stability of incoming material. Many feed mills are just busy in finding reasons in the pellet plant itself when the productivity is abnormal and ignoring the incoming material. In fact, the decline of productivity is due to the instability of the incoming flow in most cases.
