Requirements of sawdust pellet machine on raw material granularity

Although there is no absolute requirement for the raw materials used in sawdust pellet machine, there are certain requirements on the raw material granularity.



1. Sawdust sawed by the band saw: sawdust sawed by the band saw has the best granularity for making pellets. Pellets produced has stable yield in production, smooth, clean with high hardness and small energy consumption.
2. Small wood shavings of furniture factory: the particle size of wood shavings is large, so they can not be fed into the pellet machine easily, even lead to the blocking of pellet machine with lower productivity. But after crushing, small wood shavings can also be made into pellets. If there is no grinding conditions, 70% of sawdust can be mixed with 30% of wood shavings for pellet production. Large wood shaving must be crushed before using.
3. Wood dust in the plate mill and furniture factory: due to the lighter weight of wood dust, it is not easy be fed into the pellet machine, easy to lead to pellet machine blocking and low yield; it is recommended that the wood dust be mixed with sawdust for granulating, the rate can be 50% or so to achieve the best results.
4. The board and wood chip offal: the board and wood chip offal can be used as the raw material for pellet machine after crushing. The crush granularity is suggested to be the same as the sawdust sawed by band saw. High speed pulverizer with mesh pieces of 4 mm should be used to achieve the best pellet production effect of stable yield, smooth and clean pellet with high hardness and small energy consumption.
5. Raw material with mildew: if the color of the material turn black with severe mildew, then it cannot be compressed into qualified pellet. When mildew appears, cellulose in the sawdust is broken down by microorganisms, thus cannot be compressed into good pellet. If it must be used, it is suggested to mix with more than 50% of fresh wood raw material. Otherwise, qualified pellet can not be produced.
6. Fibrous materials: the length of fiber in fibrous material should not exceed 5mm. If the fiber is too long, it would block the feeding system or burn the motor of feeding system, etc. Generally, around 50% of sawdust can be mixed with fibrous materials in the production, which can effectively prevent the blocking of the feeding system. No matter how much material is added, the operator should check whether the system is blocked or not regularly to prevent failures like burning loss of motor in feeding system, etc.
